right now I am sitting here eating my homecooked meal of Pasta with tomato sauce, egg and bologna. it sounds weird, but it’s actually pretty good… and it’s what I had in my fridge. I just got back from a wonderful weekend at the Almalfi Coast. it was one of the most amazing places I have ever been to. We were picked up on Thursday night by a coach bus (EuroAdventures..) and we arrived at our BUNGELO around 2 in the morning… our place was pretty sweet. Brett, Megan, Christi and I had our own kitchen and bathroom with a porch and hammock. It was sooo nice. The entrance to the motel area had grape vines going down the trail and beautiful palm trees. The was also a really nice pool that we had full access to (but I didn’t use because it wasn’t open in the evening… dumb, I know.) Anyways… Friday we went to Capri!!!! so blue and breathtaking. right when we got there, we climbed up to the top of the town and we could see practically the whole town. amazing view. For lunch, I had an apple that I brought and some Gelato ☺ hehe, it was lemoncello, and Kiwi!!! so delish. Ian (the coordinator) planned to have a boat trip and go cliff jumping and the blue grotto, but the waves were too choppy. so we couldn’t… we just hung out at the beach, which I was fine with. I loved that beach because there were lots of rocks to climb on and mini rock jump.. Around 5 we headed back to Sorrento on the Ferry and my roommates and I made dinner to save money. We are such good girls 😉
On Saturday, We left for Positano. that was another beautiful town. I loved the beach because it was smooth rocks! (I don’t really like sand…) the water was really warm and because it was rocks instead of sand, you could just lay in the water and let the waves wash you to shore. No sand up your butt. Good deal ☺ At this beach we got to go on a boat ride! finally. I loOOOved it! it was sooo much fun. first we went to the cliff jumping area, and I jumped off one that was about 20 feet… it was really fun. after that, we went to some caves! that was my favorite part of the trip. the were amazingly blue and glowing. The water was sooo clear. We took tons of photos because Brett had a underwater camera. At the end, in order to get to the boat the quickest, we had to swim under a rock that was longer than we expected. once we got on the boat, all of us had blood in random spots.. The rock was a little too sharp and had cut us if we hit, kicked, or got knocked into the rock. it was pretty comical.
Today we went to POMPEI. So awesome. we wandered around for a good 3 hours… it was very interesting. we wanted to climb Mt. Vesuvius, but It was to expensive. sad face.
we ended coming back to Sorrento and treating ourselves to some lunch. but we made a bad choice in our restaurant decision. they were really small meals, and Bretts was really bad. to make up for it, we had some gelato. I had toffee, white chocolate Kinder, and another that I can’t remember, but it was realllly good.
The bus ride home was pretty long… a whole lot longer than what it needed to be. but I’m home now. I’m gonna go to bed. it’s 12 am…

another beautiful day in Rome.
My photo class met bright and early this morning at 8:30 in the fresco room. 5 long flights of stairs to the top of the school. I was mad tired, so when we had a break I went straight to the espresso vending machine. that’s right, I said espresso vending machine… it’s not like the espresso is with lots of other foods or drinks. nope, just espresso.
I love Italy. there is something about being here and needing espresso. no joke. I never thought that I would drink coffee so much. I think it’s contagious. there are so many kinds too. Caffé latte, caffé latte espresso/ freddo/ caldo, caffé e chocoletto, espresso macchiato, cappuccino de orzo macchiato…… geez.
today I had the Orzo one…. not my favorite. I think Orzo means rice, sooo I don’t know what I drank. but, none the less, it woke me up! after the break, we went to Saint Peters and took photos there… which was convenient because we were 5 minutes away from my apartment ☺
now I am about to leave for my galleries and studios class and we are going to explore and visit some artists studios!
I love my classes…

first week of classes…. I love all of them. my teachers are great, all of them go on explorations, and there are great people in my classes. so far my work load is not to heavy which means i have lots of time to explore 🙂 here is my schedule
Tuesday- Sketchbook at 8:30-12:30, High Ren at 6:00-7:30
Wednesday- High Ren at 9:00-12:00, Galleries and Studies at 3:00-4:30
Thursday- Digital Photo at 8:30- 1:00, Galleries and Studios at 3:00- 6:00
my schedule is amazing.
Last week I ran 6 miles at the villa Bourgese and it was wonderful. I didn’t really know the best routes, so i became a creeper for an hour and half and followed other runners … haha I found some really beautiful spots. on Wednesday I also found a running partner, which was fun 🙂 she runs a little faster than me though… when I say im going running, I’m jogging. but when she says she is going running, she actually runs. lol so I think I got a pretty good workout. On Thursday evening, me and megan made our own dinner and stayed in because we had to wake up early on Friday. Tuscania was amazing. A really great class trip… we stopped at the church that Romeo and Juliet was filmed. I thought that was pretty cool… the town was really authentic and beautiful, and very colorful… the ride there was about 2 hours, but I slept the whole time.. that night Megan, Molly, Sheila, Danielle and I went out to Trastevere and explored. it was quaint little part of town and very populated with younger italians. Saturday was our beach day! Megan and I left at 9:00 and arrived at the beach at 10:00 and stayed until 4:00… so we were there for a good amount of time. We met up with a big bunch of kids from our school, so that was a nice surprise!
That evening, we went out to a bar that was giving away free food, which was delish, and then we went to a chocolate bar! so cute and yummy! I had a shot of Bailey’s in a Chocolate shot glass! with whipped cream on top… yum. thats all i can say.
Sunday, was a lazy day… it thnuderstormed, so I slept in, did some laundry and drew for Sketchbook class. right now we are working on contour line drawings, which is throwing me back to freshman year of high school, but that ok.. sometimes you lose the basics, and you need them to create your own body and style.
Photo on the other hand will be a piece of cake for me. Christi and I are the only advanced photo students in that class… and I’m sure there will be more updates to come… in our first class, she taught us how to shoot motion shots. very elementary. Most of the class had point and shoot cameras that you can’t even do manual settings for… oh my.
Today was an interesting day. I went to the soup kitchen at 10:00 and was expecting them to speak english… but I was wrong. that is one thing that I have learned. Never expect someone to speak your language. It was a an interesting experience. My job was to clean the tables when the homeless people were messy and refilled the water… kinda boring. I couldn’t speak to anyone, because no one could understand me, and my stomach was eating itself. I was promised a lunch at the end of the volunteer work, but no lunch… overall, I was disappointed. but It was a good experience and I’m glad I can say I did it. I was expecting to get alot done tonight and go running, but it didn’t happen… oh well… tomorrow. 🙂

my first days inn rome are amazing. the Italians are so interesting and lively. When me and Megan arrived, it took us a little while to find our luggage. Than we found the Temple Rome shuttle, Marco and Gianni greeted us. we met some other temple students that were pretty cool and than we were on our own at our apartment. we arrived at 9:30, but Kate was not there until 11:00. so, while we were waiting in the lobby area, we tried to speak to some italians, but we were unsuccessful. I found us water (with a little trouble, but I did it!) and than kate greeted us! Our apartment is amazing. and our keys are priceless.
the first evening we went to the pizza party and met some more students, went out in the town and came back to our apartment. we brought some people over and hung out on the roof. we have an amazing roof. we can see the vadican from it! we loved it so much, that we slept on the roof our first night. it was pretty memorable.
today is the second day. I am having a bit of trouble with my debit card, but we’ll figure it out. we delivered our rent this morning and than went to orientation. very informative because Gianni is awesome. I’m excited for the “Life in Roma” talk tomorrow? i think… lol tonight we my roommates and i dined at a quaint little restuarant. we all loved it and there was great food!
I am now going to go have gelato on my roof! Ciao!
